Globalism
vs Jihad
A
few weeks after the superpower unleashed its military might hunting
only one man, Ossama Bin Laden remains as the mastermind of Global
Terrorism even if, ironically, it is obvious that now he is seeking
an apocalyptical martyrdorm.
The problem is a patetic example of the new world disorder.
It
is not the first time that the country that leads Global World
is after the fanatic islamic profet. Three years ago, the CIA
secretly began to send teams of US officers to northern Afghanistan
to persuade the leader of the anti Taliban opposition Ahmed Sah
Massoud to capture and even kill Osama Bin Laden.
The report, published in The New York Times, sep.30, does not
explain why Massoud, the articulate and moderate Moslem leader
did not accept to join the covert operation that perhaps could
have thwarted the attack on Sep.11.
On the contrary, and as a cruel irony of History, it was Massoud
who was assassinated one day before the attack to the twin towers.
It is not difficult to imagine-but will be difficult to confirm,
thathere was not a link of cause-effect chain in these incidents.
Massud died of wounds inflicted by an operation by two of Bin
Ladens' suicidal commandos posing as TV correspondents, one day
before the attack to the Twin Towers.
We should not forget that in 1998, under the Clinton Admnistration,
and after the bombings of two US Embassies in Africa, the US launched
a formidable attack with missiles to the area in Afgansitan where
supposedly was the hideout of Bin laden.
It was a costly attack because 70 missiles were launched with
no important results.
Now and in a justified reaction to the killing of more than 5000
American citizens and of other nationalities as well, the U.S.
launched again its powerful war machine looking for the same sneaky
man, Ossama Bin Laden. Is this what President Bush annouced as
the first war of the 21st Century?
It seems it is more than that. On Sunday, Oct21, after a meeting
in Shanghai where Russia and China gave support to this war against
global terrorism, President Bush gave an order to CIA to do whatever
it is necessary to kill Bin Laden and destroy his terrorist net.
And that is the pointwhere we are now, October 24, 2001.
